Bevan's First Birthday

Our sweet baby girl is ONE!  She is a walking, jabbering, and kissing girl who loves her brothers and sister!  She still sleeps in our closet since she doesn't consecutively sleep through the night, but she does do better than three months ago.  She also decided she needed more milk which is why I am already down to nursing her only once/day.

Family Trip to Chattanooga

With baseball finally over, we finally found the time to take a much needed and enjoyed family vacation.  With a long weekend coming up, we chose to visit Chattanooga and fell in love with the town.  Downtown is laid out very well with everything within walking distance.  There is also a lot to do outdoors like the giant grass slide, the outdoor water stream, and lots or parks and entertainment.  With our allotted time we were able to visit the Tennessee Aquarium and Ruby Falls.

The Aquarium was great in the ocean side.  By the time we got to the older building that was not as exciting, Aubrey was done and I mean DONE!  Adam tried putting her in the baby carrier as you can see in the picture and she did not like it one bit.  Maybe because she is way too big for it.  Ruby Falls went well as we got there before the lines got too long.  Aubrey walked the whole way while Bevan slept.  I was glad they did well because there are a lot of people around and there is not way out and the whole tour took over an hour.

The kids loved staying in the hotel and wanted to move in.  They thought it was so cool, especially the pool and breakfast.  Terri was nice enough to let us use her hotel points she get from booking her bosses' trips so we were able to save a lot and still stay right down town in a Residence Inn.

Adam's Week Off

Adam has had this week off as he is starting his new job at Regions Bank next week.  We are sad to leave BCBS and the great lifestyle there, but we hope the new jobs goes well and we find a groove quickly.  So this week we have had some family fun.  We had planned to go to Chattanooga, but baseball tryouts and meetings got in the way.  Tuesday we went to Tannehill and made a fire while eating Chick-fil-a.  Wednesday we took a trip to DeSoto Caverns in Childersburg, about an hour away.  The kids all had fun and behaved well.  On our tour inside the cave, we were the only ones which made things quite nice.  Points of the tour were kind of scary with the wet slippery floors, the sharp stalagmites hanging from the ceiling and the ominous voice during the "creation" light show.  Total Darkness was also a bit scary b/c if something went wrong no one could see to help.  Following the tour, the boys got to shoot real bows for the first time and I think they realized it was a bit harder than it looks!  Aubrey was a trooper as it was past her nap time when we left.   Bevan also did well and slept through most of it, even the scary light show!  We've had fun with Adam while he's been home and we'll be sad when he has to go back to work.
